Fernando Bessega

Fernando Bessega was born in Buenos Aires, Argentina, in 1973, and became an immigrant before he was three years old. He grew up in Venezuela and later lived in Canada, Germany, Luxembourg, and the United States. This constant shifting between countries and cultures shaped much of his worldview and informed the fluid identity he carries through life. Since 2001, Fernando has worked in the demanding world of global corporations, first as treasurer for Venezuela and Colombia at Coca-Cola, then at The Clorox Company, and for the past fifteen years in a variety of management and individual contributor roles at Amazon, with a brief hiatus at Intel. Throughout these decades, he navigated the workplace with the silent weight of undiagnosed neurodivergence, learning, adapting, masking, and rebuilding himself through each transition. His lived experience as a neurodivergent professional in high-pressure environments is the foundation of the philosophy presented in this book. He writes not as an expert or clinician, but as someone who has spent a lifetime surviving, sometimes barely, sometimes brilliantly, in systems not designed for minds like his.
